Samantha has just moved out on her own and is confronted with all the responsibilities of being an adult when a mysterious young girl beckons her to rediscover the simplicity and fun she left behind in her childhood.

Director’s Notes

This was my fifth student film, shot on color 16mm film. This film is an exploration of finding a balance of childhood glee in the mundaneness of adulthood responsibility. Unfortunately when I began editing the film together I discovered that two key shots were out of focus: a shot of the main character's name on a bill and her name below a childhood picture. Without the text in focus on both shots it made it difficult for people to make the connection that she is playing with her younger self on the playground. It did however leave the film open for more interpretations. Many have thought that it was her dead daughter or sister and some have floated other interesting theories as well. While I wish I could go back and fix those two shots, it has been rather entertaining to hear the many interpretations that the audience has come up with over the years.
